What is a Philanthropreneur
Understanding The Value of Human Capital
In 2004 Mark Desvaux coined the term philanthropreneur as an entrepreneurial philanthropist. However, in 1999 The Wall Street Journal used the term in an article, and in 1997here was a newsletter called "The Philanthropreneur."
Philanthropist wants to help create a better world and donates their time, money, skills, experience, or talent.
While charity focuses on providing immediate relief to people,
philanthropy focuses on solving problems over the long term for the betterment of humanity.
TBL INVESTING
The triple bottom line is an accounting containing three parts—the Social, Environmental, and Financial. TBL framework evaluates performance from a broader perspective to arrive at a comprehensive financial evaluation.
INSURE
Risk management identifies, assesses, and controls the threats to an organization's capital, earnings, and operations. Risks may come from financial liabilities, accidents, natural disasters, and cyber attacks. Integral and complex to all organizations.
SPONSORSHIPS
There are three opportunities for sponsorship:
Branding – allows sponsors to display their logos to event attendees.
Lead opportunities – Give sponsors a way to collect sales leads.
Networking – This allows the sponsor to get to know attendees one-to-one.
IMPACT INVESTING
Impact partnerships are multisector collaborations where private or public, non-profit organizations, government, community groups, and individual community members come together to solve problems affecting the whole community—investing time or money to a common cause.
